CENTISORB

Braided, Coated Poly (glycolide-co-L-lactide) (PGA - PLA) copolymer from (90%) glycolide & (10%) L-lactide [Glacomer91] Coated Glacomer 91 & Calcium Stearate, [Polyglactin 910] Suture

Characteristics

Suture
Characteristics
Colour
Violet or undyed
Raw Material
Copolymer of Poly(glycolide-co-L-lactide) (PGA-PLA)
Coating
Copolymer of Glycolide & Calcium Sterate
Material type
Synthetic, braided, coated
Absorption
With simple hydrolysis, after approximately 60-70 days.
Characteristics
High initial tensile strength, good tissue compliance
Application
CENTISORB are intended for use in general soft tissue approximation and /or ligation, including use in ophthalmic surgery, peripheral nerve anastomosis and microsurgery for vessels less than 2mm diameter. The safety and effectiveness of CENTISORB sutures in cardiovascular tissue have not been established.
Wound support
Excellent
Tensile strength
The tensile strength of the suture progressive loss occurs as a result of a hydrolysis process that degrades the PGLA allowing the absorption & subsequent metabolism by the organism. The absorption of the surgical suture is practically complete in about 56-70 days after implantation.
Knotting strength
Excellent
Tissue reaction
Minimal
Sterilisation
Ethylene oxide
